Caitlin Clark was sensational in the Indiana Fever’s Game 2 win over the Las Vegas Aces. She recorded 27 points, seven rebounds and 15 assists, helping Indiana secure a 99-89 victory and force a do-or-die Game 3.
The Fever All-Star made franchise and WNBA history in the process. Not only did she set a new mark for the most assists in a single playoff game in Fever history, but she also became the first WNBA player ever to have a 25-point, 15-assist game in the postseason.
If there was one unfortunate thing about Clark’s performance on Tuesday, it’s the fact that she was not able to finish the game. She fouled out after committing her sixth foul with 2:45 remaining in the final quarter. That meant she was not on the floor to close out the win.
Despite that, however, Clark didn’t stop contributing to her team in any way possible. When asked postgame how she felt about not being on the floor for the closing stages, she highlighted that she had full trust in her teammates.

Clark also mentioned how she showed support and constantly communicated with her teammates on the court about what they needed to do.
“I had full belief in them. Kelsey came up with the big free throws. AB had the big bucket on A’ja,” Clark stated.
“We just persevered, fought through. I thought we were really good on the defensive end of the floor. You know, it was always next play, next play, next play. And that’s kind of what I tried to do when I fouled out of the game. I just gathered the girls and tell them what we needed to do to execute and to win, and they did that.”
Sure enough, though, the Fever will need Clark to be more careful with her fouls in Game 3 if they want to beat the Aces again. She is the center of Indiana’s offense, and there’s no denying that she makes them more dangerous offensively with her shooting and playmaking.
If Game 3 ends up being closer, the Fever can’t afford to have her fouling out in the final stages, especially when they need clutch shots.
