Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese once formed one of the most formidable frontcourts in the WNBA. This was during their time together as teammates with the Chicago Sky.
Cardoso and Reese both joined the Sky in 2024 as part of that year’s draft class. The Sky selected Cardoso third overall, followed by Reese as the No. 7 pick of the draft.
Reese, however, has now moved on to greener pastures. The two-time All-Star made her way to the Atlanta Dream during the offseason via a blockbuster trade deal.
The Dream sent two future first-round picks to the Sky in exchange for Reese and a second-round pick.

Reese was back in Chicago on Wednesday for the first time since her offseason move. She made her debut for the Dream in a preseason matchup against, incidentally, the Sky.
Cardoso wasted no time reacquainting herself with Reese on the court. The main difference, however, is that they are now on opposing teams.
Cardoso emphatically erased a lay-up attempt by Reese in the first half of the game. The WNBA took to social media to share a clip of the Sky center’s defensive stop.
“Kamilla Cardoso sends it back against her former teammate 💪” the league posted on X.
Cardoso picked Reese up from way out after the latter brought down the ball. Reese attempted to shake Cardoso off with a crossover move before driving to the basket. Cardoso stood her ground, though. She swatted away Reese’s attempt and recovered the defensive rebound.
In the end, however, it was the Dream that secured an 87-78 win at Wintrust Arena.
Reese registered eight points on 2-of-7 shooting, seven rebounds, two assists and three steals in just 13 minutes of action.
Cardoso finished with three points, four rebounds, a steal and two blocks in 16 minutes of play.
