Von Miller joined the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, signing a one-year, $5.5 million contract, worth up to $7.5 million in incentives. Miller is one of the best edge rushers in the history of the league, tied with Dallas Cowboys legend and Hall of Famer DeMarcus Ware for 10th all-time with 138.5 sacks.
The 6-foot-3 linebacker is most renowned for his time with the Denver Broncos, including winning 2016 Super Bowl MVP for his 2.5-sack, two-forced-fumble performance in the 24-10 win over Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers. The seven-time All-Pro spent the 2025 season with the Washington Commanders. The Texas native played all 17 games, producing nine sacks and 26 tackles.

Matt Eberflus led a league-worst passing defense (251.5 passing yards allowed per game and 35 touchdowns) and scoring defense (30.1 points per game) in 2025 and was replaced as defensive coordinator by Christian Parker for 2026. With team President, owner and general manager Jerry Jones never one to quell expectations for the next season, pressure mounts on second-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer to improve upon the Cowboys' 7-9-1 record last season.
On Monday, Miller only put the spotlight further onto Dallas for next season. Miller went to the social media website X, posting an image of him in the Cowboys' home jersey with the number 40. Miller captioned the message with a request for Dallas and the fans to make the season special.
"Dallas! Let's make this one special! 😈"
Dallas will head to MetLife Stadium to start the 2026 NFL regular season against the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football on Sept. 13 at 8:20 p.m. ET.
