Villanova basketball coach Kevin Willard lost his composure during this Friday's first-round matchup against Utah State.
The Wildcats entered this year's NCAA Tournament as the No. 8 seed in the West Region. Although they grabbed a 39-37 lead at halftime, they had no answer for the Aggies in the paint. Drake Allen, Adam Elamin and Mason Falslev all had success in the first half.
Willard was so frustrated with his team's performance that he jokingly threatened his staff during his mid-game interview.

After being asked how Villanova will keep Iowa State out of the paint, Willard replied, "I'm gonna fire my staff."
TNT sideline reporter Lauren Shehadi immediately shot down that idea from Willard, telling him: "Not now." Willard, however, wouldn't be denied.
"Yeah, I am. Because we've given up 8 points on underneath out-of-bounds defense," Willard said. "The only thing I'm gonna do is fire them and get a new staff."
Villanova's outlook for the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
Willard accepted Villanova's coaching job after going 65-39 during a three-year stint at Maryland. He received plenty of backlash for how he handled his departure last season.
While fans of the Wildcats are happy about Willard coaching the team, they won't be thrilled with a first-round exit.
We'll see if Villanova can take care of Utah State and advance to the Round of 32.
