Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are back in action on Friday night. They are hosting Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings in a home match at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Fever are looking to make it two wins in a row following their convincing 106-92 victory over the New York Liberty on Tuesday.
Clark, however, suffered what appears to be an ankle injury right before halftime. In the video below, the three-time All-Star can be seen limping on the court after stepping on Wings guard Alysha Clark's foot. The Fever superstar appeared to favor her left foot as she tried to continue playing defense on the play.
Fever reporter Scott Agness noted that Clark appeared to tweak her left ankle.
Fever head coach Stephanie White decided to pull Clark from the game after the knock. Tyasha Harris came in to replace Clark, who headed to the locker room before the halftime break.
Indiana has yet to provide an official update on Clark's status as of this writing. They entered the break down 37-35. Before leaving the game, Clark already had a team-high nine points on 3-of-7 shooting, three rebounds and four assists in 18 minutes of action.
The good news for the Fever is that Clark appeared to be fine. A few minutes after heading into the locker room, the 24-year-old ran out of the tunnel to return to the court. She put up some shots as she warmed up for the second half.
Apart from the ankle tweak, Clark reportedly also banged her knee on the same play late in the first half. However, it seems that the former Iowa standout has dodged a significant injury here. Clark was on the court to start the second half.
The Fever should provide an update on the issue after the game.
