The Cleveland Browns have had a busy offseason reshaping their roster, with two of the more notable new faces being Jared Verse and Spencer Fano.
Both are expected to play significant roles for Cleveland this season, and training camp has already given fans a look at the intensity building between teammates. That intensity spilled over on Saturday, when Verse and Fano got into a heated confrontation during practice.
WKYC's Shawn Dunagan captured the incident on camera, showing Verse grab Fano's face mask, pull off his helmet and throw several punches before the two went to the ground. Teammates quickly stepped in to separate them.
Reports indicated Fano had been getting under Verse's skin after the defensive end was flagged for jumping offside, with the rookie celebrating with a dance and helping draw Verse offside twice more while continuing to talk trash. Fano didn't hide how much he was enjoying it, which many believe contributed to what followed.
Once the footage made its way online, NFL fans had plenty to say.
"They lost one dude that rips helmets off, and gained another lmao," one fan wrote.
"They scrapping," another added.
"Wishing they have the same intensity when the season starts," one fan noted.
"Verse ripping helmets off? He's at least 1 step closer to becoming Myles," another fan commented.
"As a Browns fan I love to see it from Big Spence those boys been going at it all camp 🔥," one Browns fan stated.
"Most fight we’ve seen in Cleveland since LeBron left the first time," another wrote.
It marked the second fight at Browns camp this summer, following an earlier scuffle on Aug. 1, shared by reporter Camryn Justice. This one appeared to have more behind it.
Verse joined Cleveland as part of the blockbuster trade that sent Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams on June 1, while Fano arrived weeks later after the Browns selected him with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
