The Cincinnati Bengals may have suffered a devastating hit to their defense during the first day of training camp.
During this Wednesday's practice session, Bengals defensive end Shemar Stewart was carted off the field with an apparent left knee injury. This injury occurred during an 11-on-11 rep.
Footage of the former first-round pick suffering this injury has already surfaced online. You can see Stewart's leg hyperextend in a gruesome manner as he's trying to rush the passer.

Stewart, the No. 17 pick from the 2025 NFL Draft, was carted off the field after being evaluated by Cincinnati's trainers. He was unable to put any weight on his injured leg.
"Yikes man. Missing camp & more would be crushing for a developmental player like him after how his rookie season went," one fan said in regards to Stewart's injury.
"That's gross," a second fan wrote. "Prayers up."
"Oh no! That does not look good. I believe that his left leg, with a major hyperextension and varus moment. Certainly concerned for the ACL, LCL, and possibly more," another person commented.
Rough start to Shemar Stewart's NFL career.
Stewart was the final first-round pick from the 2025 draft to secure a contract due to a lengthy holdout. He ultimately signed a four-year, $18.97 million deal with the Bengals.
As a rookie, Stewart had 11 tackles and a sack for the Bengals. The Texas A&M product only appeared in eight games.
Unfortunately, there's a chance Stewart could miss significant time this season. We're hoping he gets good news from Cincinnati's medical team though.
