The Vancouver Whitecaps lost their first game to their first Liga MX opponents, Atlante FC. Atlante won the game 1-0 with a goal from Jhojan Julio. The Vancouver Whitecaps are winless in their last five games across all competitions.
FC Juárez was one of the few Liga MX teams to grab a win on matchday 1 of the 2026 Leagues Cup. FC Juárez defeated Minnesota United 2-1 with goals from Guilherme Castilho and Oscar Estupiñan.
