Legendary U.S. women’s soccer star Carli Lloyd had exciting news to share with her fans this week.
Lloyd, a two-time World Cup winner and Olympic gold medalist, covered the 2026 FIFA World Cup for FOX while pregnant. She clapped back at a social media user who criticized her.
“I can tell you are a gentleman,” she wrote on X. “Do you always disrespect women? Does it make you feel good hiding behind your keyboard?”

Fast forward to this September, and Lloyd has officially welcomed her second baby into the world. She shared a photo of her newborn, Hunter Jax, on Instagram along with a heartfelt caption
“Our hearts have never been fuller,” Lloyd wrote. “Welcome to the world, our sweet baby boy.”
Lloyd later revealed that it wasn’t an easy delivery, but she’s grateful for the medial assistance she received.
“It wasn’t the easiest delivery, which makes us even more grateful for the best team of Doctors, nurses, and everyone else who took such amazing care of us throughout this pregnancy. @mcobgyns @virtuahealth, Dr. McCrosson, Dr. McCullen, Erica O’Learly, Dr. Zender, Jordan. Thank you for the best care!!”
The road to get here wasn’t easy.
Lloyd was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2025. She said there was “no greater honor” than representing the U.S. national team.
“I operated like an emotionless machine. I was intense, and I truly believed that the only way for me to survive in such a cutthroat environment was to be that way. So to my teammates, I want to say this: I’m sorry I wasn’t always able to give you all of me,” Lloyd said. “As lonely and difficult as the journey was at times, I would do it all over again. Yes, it was extremely hard. There were countless sacrifices along the way, but every bit of it was worth it because I loved the game
Lloyd has certainly earned an extended break from all the chaos that comes with either playing or covering soccer. We’re wishing her and her family all the best.
