After a 9-4 season, USC Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley continues to make waves on the recruiting trail. While holding the top-rated 2026 cycle, he's looking to replicate that success with the 2027 recruiting class.
However, there is still a lot of work to be done. So far, the Trojans have landed four commitments, ranking fourth in the Big Ten and 11th in the nation. As one of the top college football programs in California, USC has a large influence on the state's high school recruits.
Riley is looking to take full advantage of that influence. Cornerback Danny Lang, out of Santa Ana, California, has been a longtime target for the Trojans. The interest has been reciprocated, already taking eight unofficial visits with USC and having an official visit scheduled on June 12.

At 6-foot-0.5 and 160 pounds, Lang is a four-star recruit, the No. 10 cornerback and the No. 75 player in the nation according to Rivals Industry Rankings. In his junior season at Mater Dei High School, he had 31 tackles, one tackle for loss, one hurry and 10 pass deflections.
After earning a spot in Lang's top 10 schools, USC has proven to be firmly in the mix. On Thursday, though, Rivals' Adam Gorney logged an expert prediction for the cornerback to commit to the Oregon Ducks.
If Gorney's prediction is correct, as he's been 91.89% of the time, then Lang would be the third player in Oregon's 2027 recruiting class out of California. He would join four-star offensive tackle Drew Fielder and three-star offensive tackle Avery Michael. Both also hold offers from USC.
