Team USA received a special offer from President Trump on Sunday.

The Americans topped Canada, 2-1, in the men's hockey gold medal game on Sunday morning. The United States were able to hold on and force overtime, despite a ferocious effort from the Canadians to win it in regulation. Jack Hughes, 24, then scored the game-winning goal in the extra session.

It's the United States' first gold medal in men's hockey since the "Miracle on Ice" win in 1980. President Trump did not attend the game, though he made a phone call to the American players following the victory.

He made a special offer, too.

President Trump wants the American team to attend the State of the Union on Tuesday night in Washington, D.C.

"Your goalie played not bad," President Trump said. "I’ve seen hockey goalies have slightly worse games," he continued, while calling his performance "unbelievable."

President Trump then offered to bring the United States players to D.C. for the State of the Union. The American team quickly accepted the offer.

"We're in," they said.

Weather could be an issue, though

The American team is flying to Miami from Italy, due to the winter storm hitting the Mid-Atlantic.

"We’re giving the State of the Union speech on Tuesday night," President Trump said. "I could send a military plane or something, but if you would like to, it’s the coolest night."

"Can you pick us up in Miami on Tuesday morning?" a player asked.

President Trump is working on a plane.

"We’ll get Kash (Patel), and we’ll get the military to get you guys over," the President added. "The nice thing about being President is, I can tell you, you don’t have to worry about the weather or landing."

The State of the Union is set for Tuesday evening.
