Former Ohio State Buckeyes head football coach Urban Meyer was fired less than one full season into his NFL head coaching career with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Jaguars fired Meyer, a three-time national title-winning head coach, 13 games into the 2021 season. Meyer's Jacksonville tenure was disastrous, highlighted by an unfortunate bar video that led to public ridicule.
Meyer was fired less than one full year into his contract, which led to the legendary head coach taking the Jaguars to arbitration. However, the case issued a ruling on Monday, going against Meyer.

College football insider Brett McMurphy reported on Monday morning that Meyer lost the case, saving the Jaguars more than $30 million.
Meyer had challenged the Jaguars' decision to fire him "with cause" just 13 games into his five-year deal.

Meyer has admitted that the Jaguars were not the right fit for him.
“I’ll tell you, Dan, it is a lot different," Meyer said to Dan Dakich, via Jags Wire. "It is different. Just the amount of time you get with your quarterback. Just the amount of time you get with your team. The roster management. How you practice.
“You know, the amount of reps you get before you go play a game, to me, was shockingly low. For example, we would practice, you maybe get one or two reps at something, next thing you know you’re calling it in the game. In college, you never do that. In college, you’re gonna get at least a dozen opportunities to practice that before you ask a player to go do it in the game. So there are a lot of differences.”
Meyer has been on TV since leaving coaching, working for FOX's "Big Noon Kickoff."
