The Chicago Sky hosted Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Sunday night at Wintrust Arena. The home team put up a good fight but ultimately fell short against a Fever side coming off back-to-back losses.
Clark led the way for Indiana with an awe-inspiring 37-point performance, along with 10 assists, three rebounds, a steal and a career-high eight triples. The three-time All-Star notched her fifth career 30-10 game, which is now one more than every other player in WNBA history combined.
Kelsey Mitchell also went off in this one with 30 points on six triples. Aliyah Boston sat out with a right foot injury.
The Sky, on the other hand, was led by Natasha Cloud’s team-high 16 points. Azura Stevens supplied 14 points in the loss.
The Fever secured the win, 113-90.
Unfortunately for the Sky, this latest loss to Clark and the Fever brought about some bad news. Chicago dropped to 15-23 on the season and is 10th in the standings. They have now officially been eliminated from playoff contention.
The Washington Mystics and the New York Liberty secured playoff berths on Sunday, which also sealed the deal for Chicago. This is now the third straight year that the Sky will miss the postseason.
Meanwhile, the Fever improved to 25-14 and are fifth in the standings. Clark and Co. have already secured their spot in the playoffs.
Chicago has six more games to play this season, starting with a road matchup against the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday.
Sunday’s defeat marked the Sky’s ninth straight loss to the Fever, dating back to 2024.
