Caitlin Clark and Team USA secured a perfect record during the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup group stage after taking down Czechia 104-65 on Monday, moving to 3-0 with wins over China and Italy as well. Now, Team USA will look to advance to the semifinals of the knockout round, facing Hungary on Friday morning.
Clark has been putting up solid numbers during her first World Cup. Through three games in Berlin, the Indiana Fever point guard is averaging 8.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and a Team USA-leading 6.3 assists in 21.9 minutes per game, all coming off the bench. She is also averaging the third-most assists in the World Cup, behind Belgium’s Jule Allemand (8.0) and Turkey’s Sevgi Uzun (8.3).
However, while Clark has been quite successful in certain areas during the FIBA World Cup, she has struggled in others.

While Clark is averaging the fifth-most points on Team USA despite coming off the bench, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star is still struggling with her shot. In fact, during the group stage, she is shooting 7-of-23 from the field, sitting at just 30.4%.
Only Phoenix Mercury guard Kahleah Copper is shooting worse for Team USA so far during the World Cup, making 3-of-14 attempts, or 21.4%. Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers, on the other hand, is leading the team in field goal percentage, shooting 59.1% after making 13-of-22 shots.
Not only that, but Clark also had the second-worst Points Per Possession (PPP) on Team USA during the group stage, which measures how efficiently a player scores (points/total possessions). The Fever guard is tallying 0.79 PPP during the World Cup, just ahead of Las Vegas Aces guard Chelsea Gray, who has 0.64 PPP. Bueckers also leads in this category with a 1.18 PPP.
It’s also important to note that Points Per Possession does not take assists into account.
Clark and Team USA will be back in action early Thursday morning, facing Hungary for a spot in the semifinals at 5:30 a.m. ET.
