All eyes are on UConn basketball star Azzi Fudd this March.

Fudd has been part of UConn's program since 2021. Although a season-ending ACL injury kept her off the floor during the 2023-24 season, it didn't hold her down for too long. She returned to the hardwood for the 2024-25 season and reminded everyone why she's a former Gatorade National Player of the Year.

As for this season, Fudd's final year at UConn has been a massive success. She's averaging 17.8 points and 3.0 assists per game, which is why it's no surprise that she earned first-team All-American honors.

"It is like it always takes a flower to bloom. You have the morning dew on it, and it is closed up, but then the sun hits it and it starts to open up a little bit. Sooner or later, you get a full blossom, and you get to see that full personality," UConn head coach Geno Auriemma said, via CT Insider. "She has been like that since she was a toddler and that is kind of how her career at UConn has been.”

The bright lights of March Madness haven't slowed down Fudd. She had 34 points in this past Monday's win over Syracuse.

“My teammates were finding me, setting great screens,” Fudd said. “I wasn’t even thinking. I was open — so shoot it."

Next up for No. 1 seed UConn is a showdown with No. 4 North Carolina. We have no doubt she'll rise to the occasion.

Azzi Fudd's outlook for the WNBA.

Just about every WNBA mock draft has Fudd going No. 1 overall. At this point, it'd be a surprise if she doesn't come off the board first.

"Fudd's ability to stretch defenses will be of great value in the WNBA, and she is also a reliable defensive player," ESPN's Michael Voepel said. "Plus, the UConn pedigree goes a long way in a league that has seen so many outstanding former Huskies."

The 2026 WNBA Draft will be held on April 13.
