The No. 1 UConn Huskies (31-0) seem to be in a prime position to repeat as NCAA Tournament champions and add to their already historic 12 titles.
While replacing the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, Paige Bueckers was viewed as a challenge, Geno Auriemma's squad has not missed a beat. They have sat atop the rankings for all but three weeks of the season, with senior guard Azzi Fudd and sophomore forward Sarah Strong leading the charge.
Fudd is averaging 17.9 points, 3.0 assists and 2.6 rebounds on the year, while shooting 49% from the field and 45.1% from three.
As Fudd and the Huskies await their opponent in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tournament, UConn took to X to announce that she was a unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selection.
"Azzi Fudd is a unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selection," wrote UConn.
Fudd wasn't the only UConn player to earn BIG EAST honors, as Strong was named BIG EAST Player and Defensive Player of the Year.
Blanca Quinonez was named both BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, and Sixth Woman of the year. KK Arnold joined Fudd as a first-team selection, while Ashlynn Shade earned honorable mention.

In terms of the BIG EAST, UConn will play the winner of Butler and Georgetown on Saturday.
As for Fudd, her prolific offensive season has her projected as a top-three pick in the upcoming WNBA Draft, according to Jack Maloney of CBS Sports. While it'd be an impressive feat to see her overcome all of the injuries that plagued her throughout her career in order to become a top pick, it's hard to imagine she isn't locked in on winning a title.
