The No. 2 seed UConn Huskies' NCAA Tournament run ended with a national championship loss to the No. 1 Michigan Wolverines. It was a disappointing end for Dan Hurley's eighth season as the program's head coach. However, they still went 34-6 and proved to be one of the top teams in college basketball.
Now into the offseason, many teams, including UConn, have turned their attention toward the transfer portal. So far, the Huskies' portal class ranks 22nd in the nation, bringing in two players, while losing five. As movement continues to heat up, Hurley and his staff are keeping their options open.

On Monday, On3's senior national recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw reported that the Huskies are one of several teams linked to former Charleston Cougars center Chol Machot.
"I am told that Machot will visit Georgetown on Tuesday, will host Zoom meetings with UConn and Syracuse this week, and is in the process of working on a date with Virginia Tech," Shaw wrote.
Machot put together a solid sophomore season with the Cougars. He appeared in 32 games and made 15 starts while averaging 8.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 0.2 assists. He also shot 59.2% from the field and 27.3% from the three-point line.
His efforts on the court led to some high honors. The redshirt sophomore was named the Coastal Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year.
With two more years of eligibility, it's not a major surprise that Machot is garnering so much attention. On3 Industry Rankings list him as the No. 147 player and the No. 14 center to enter the transfer portal this offseason.
If UConn can land his commitment, he would be their third addition in the portal, potentially joining forward Nik Khamenia (Duke Blue Devils) and forward Najai Hines (Seton Hall Pirates).
