Simone Biles last competed at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, where she won three gold medals and one silver. While she hasn't performed for over a year now, the decorated U.S. gymnast continues to make headlines with her actions away from the sport.
Biles, who is widely considered the greatest gymnast of all time with her 41 medals across the Olympics (11) and the World Championships (30), has been busy with her personal life and supporting her NFL player husband, Jonathan Owens. She also has plenty of commitments as a popular sports personality, most recently joining the Laureus movement as an "Ambassador."
It's worth noting that Biles also attended the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan last month and cheered for her fellow Olympians.

On Tuesday, however, Biles had fans feeling emotional for a more personal reason. On her Instagram Stories, she shared that she bought a new car for her best friend.
Biles shared a video of her signing some papers for the purchase of the vehicle. In another post, she showed the car — which appears to be a 2026 Hyundai Palisade that costs between $39,000 and $54,000-plus — and wrote, "truly blessed to be able to do these things."
Her best friend, Rachel Roettger, shared Biles' gift on social media and expressed her appreciation for the gymnastics icon.
"get you a bestfriend like mine," Roettger wrote, along with several photos of the car. "SB surprised me w/ my dream mom car, forever thankful for YOU."
Fans absolutely loved Biles' gesture, with many even unable to contain their tears.
"SO HAPPY FOR YOU!! SIMONEEEEE YOU DA BEST," a fan wrote along with a loudly crying face emoji.
"So freaking kind!! Love SB and I love this for you!!!" a commenter added, along with a crying face emoji.
"I need the video I know it was some tears shed," a poster stated with a loudly crying face emoji.
Another supporter shared, "Omg!!! My heart!!"
"What a beautiful gift. So much love and thought," a fifth follower noted, while another social media user wrote only several emojis showing a face holding back tears.
