Amber Glenn got off to a strong start at the 2026 Winter Olympics, helping Team USA win gold in the team free skate. The 26-year-old figure skater chipped in eight points to the USA’s 69-point finish, alongside fellow “Blade Angels” member Alysa Liu, who added nine points to their country's total.

But Glenn and Liu had their sights set on another medal at Milano Cortina 2026, competing in the women’s singles short program. While Liu finished Tuesday’s event in third place with a score of 76.59, Glenn was not as fortunate. The first-time Olympian failed to execute her planned triple loop and placed 13th with a score of 67.39.

Still, both U.S. skaters, along with the third “Blade Angels” member Isabeau Levito, advanced to Thursday’s free skate, and each delivered a strong performance. Glenn, skating to "I Will Find You" and "The Return," earned the third-highest score at the event, finishing with a 214.91 total and jumping all the way to fifth place. This included a triple flip and triple toeloop that gave her 10.94 points.

But it was Liu who impressed the most, finishing with the best free skating score and securing herself another gold medal, ending with a score of 226.79. Her triple Lutz and triple toeloop jump was one of her best, earning her 11.53 for her final score. Liu performed to "MacArthur Park Suite" by Donna Summer.

Despite losing out on a second Olympic medal, Glenn still showed support for her Team USA teammate. Following Liu's first-place performance, Glenn greeted her with a smile, a hug and what appeared to be a brief message: "I'm so proud of you."

"THE LOVE BETWEEN AMBER GLENN AND ALYSA LIU. 💛 #WinterOlympics," NBC Olympics & Paralympics wrote on Instagram.

Despite the singles result, Glenn leaves the 2026 Milan Games with her first Olympic gold, adding to the six gold medals she has won in other major competitions, including three U.S. championships. Liu, meanwhile, earns her first two Olympic gold medals, bringing her career total to seven.
