American figure skater Amber Glenn entered the Milan Cortina Olympics with a ton of confidence - and rightfully so. And yet, all it took was one simple mistake for her to fall short of a gold medal on Tuesday.
Glenn was hoping to claim her first gold medal in the women’s singles short program at the 2026 Winter Games. After pulling off a triple axel during her short program, she had to bail out of a triple loop. Since she was required to end her "Like a Prayer" routine with a triple loop, she ultimately received an invalid element.
As you'd imagine, Glenn was devastated over her mistake on Tuesday. She was seen telling her coach "I had it" as she was coming off the ice in Milan.
Glenn ultimately settled for a 67.39, which put her in 13th place by the end of the run.
Despite this heartbreaking result, Glenn is trying her best to stay positive. She posted this message on Instagram this Wednesday: "The world has ended for me many times and yet tomorrow still comes."

"You have represented America perfectly," another fan said. You have given us such a beautiful performance and i cannot wait to watch you again on Thursday."
Glenn will be back on the ice this Thursday in the women's free skate. Hopefully, her story at the 2026 Olympics has a golden ending.
