Should Caitlin Clark leave the WNBA?
Former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason seems to think so. The New York City radio host is urging Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, to leave the league for Europe. Clark's fans are outraged following the dirty hit on her during Wednesday night's Fever vs. Mercury game.
“If I were Caitlin Clark, I would seriously consider going to play overseas somewhere and get royal treatment,” Esiason ranted. “And get real money.”
He didn't hold back.
“From somewhere,” Esiason said of where Clark could land a big deal. “I know Caitlin makes a ton of money off the court in terms of endorsements, and rightfully so. But I think there is a petty jealousy, and she’s a straight white basketball player. And she is not being treated with any sort of respect whatsoever.”

U.S. politician Tim Burchett, a Congressman from Tennessee, is echoing Esiason's message, as well.
Burchett believes that Clark should leave the WNBA.

"The thug treatment of @CaitlinClark22 by the @WNBA is pathetic," he said on X.
"I think it's trashy," Rep. Burchett told TMZ Sports. "She gets the crap kicked out of her."
He believes that Clark could ultimately land in Europe.
"Some European league is going to pull her in and they'll pay her and she'll pull out and they'll all be back flying coach."
It's highly unlikely that Clark will even consider leaving the WNBA, but it's clear that her fan base is getting more and more fed up with the league's treatment of her, following this latest incident.
