There will still be nights when Maxey scores 35. There will also be nights when he scores 18 while handing out 11 assists because LeBron is creating quality looks all over the floor.
Fantasy managers sometimes focus too much on raw scoring. Efficiency, assists and steals still count.

Assuming reasonable health across the roster, I'd project Maxey to average: 24.8 points, 7.4 assists, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 2.9 made three-pointers.
The scoring comes down. The assists tick upward. The shooting percentage should improve because more of his attempts come within the flow of the offense instead of late in the shot clock.
I wouldn't view that as a disappointing season. I'd view it as a different one.
The finger injury shouldn't be ignored
One thing that deserves mentioning is Maxey's health.
His 2025-26 season ended because of a finger injury, although Philadelphia expects him to make a full recovery before this season. That isn't something I'd panic over, but it's recent enough to acknowledge when evaluating his fantasy outlook.

Philadelphia should again provide all three. That's why I don't see this as five players competing against one another. I see five players filling different jobs.
LeBron facilitates. Embiid dominates inside. Brown attacks the wing. Maxey creates speed and pressure. Edgecombe cleans up the opportunities created by everyone else.
That's a much healthier offensive structure than asking everyone to do everything.
Maxey May Benefit From All The Stars
The easiest fantasy mistake would be assuming Maxey loses value simply because another superstar (or two) joined the roster. Basketball doesn't work that way.
Yes, his scoring average may dip. Yes, he'll probably use fewer possessions than he did a year ago. But he'll also spend far less time trying to rescue broken offensive possessions.
Basically, Maxey is entering a season with more talent around him than at any point in his career.
For fantasy managers, that probably means slightly lower scoring, better efficiency, a few more assists and another year of high-level production.
His role is more complicated. But I'm not convinced it's any worse.
