The New York Knicks have won their sixth straight game on Sunday against the Washington Wizards, 145-113. Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns worked together to lead the team to win and maintain their upbeat spirit. Brunson had 23 points and four assists, while Towns recorded his 50th double-double of the 2025-26 season.

KAT had 26 points and 16 rebounds on a very efficient 69.2% shooting. The Knicks improved to 47-23 this season, inching closer to their third-straight 50-win season. It was a complete group effort, as five other players scored in double digits aside from the All-Star duo. That includes second-year guard out of Marquette, Tyler Kolek, who had 11 points off the bench.

Tyler Kolek's Strong Performances in the G League And NBA Were Recognized

Before the Knicks' game, Kolek had an impressive performance for the franchise's G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks, earlier on Sunday. He had 42 points and 11 assists, leading to a 141-131 victory against the Greensboro Swarm. Kolek's strong performance earned him a spot in the history books, as he became the first player for the G League team to have a 40-point and 11-assist game.

After that, he still played 5:24 minutes for the Knicks. Head coach Mike Brown acknowledged his excellent performance in both games.

“That’s an amazing feat,” Brown said. “To play in a G League game in the afternoon and come play in an NBA game, it’s gotta be a weird feeling.

“But these guys are pro athletes, and they do a great job at taking care of their bodies, and our performance group does a good job in that area, too. For them to be able to do that, to me, it’s an amazing thing.”

Kolek's teammates had fun with his milestone of playing two games in one day. The Knicks recognized the teenage guard's combined 53 points on their social media post.

Kolek has struggled to secure his spot in the Knicks' rotation in his second year in the league. He's averaging 12.0 minutes through 57 games before Sunday, and has had a few DNPs. However, he has done his best to make the most of the chances he's been given, averaging 4.3 points and 2.8 points.

This season, he's only had five games in which he scored in double digits. The Knicks have a deep backcourt with Brunson, Jose Alvarado, Jordan Clarkson and Miles McBride. With that, Kolek has struggled to find a place in the team's rotation.
