The Super Bowl is being played at the home of Colin Kaepernick on Sunday evening.

Kaepernick, who last played in the NFL in 2016, spent his entire career in San Francisco. He starred for the San Francisco 49ers, leading the team to a Super Bowl appearance back in 2013. While Kaepernick has been out of the league for a decade, he's still thought of among today's players.

Two players competing in Super Bowl 60 praised Kaepernick before kickoff on Sunday evening. They still think very highly of him.

Both Seahawks safety Julian Love and Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba praised Kaepernick before kickoff on Sunday night.

“Oh, yeah, Colin Kaepernick,” JSN said, per the Washington Post. “I mean, a legend. Definitely respect him and all the things he was able to do on the field and fight for off the field. I have a lot of respect for him. It takes a lot to stand up for what you believe in. As long as it’s not causing danger and harm and stuff like that, I can go for it.”

Love added: “It’s bigger than football. It’s a legacy of standing on what you believe in and just being unapologetic about it. It goes along with his message, but it goes along with a lot of things that are going on today. He had to do it alone a lot of the time. I was probably in high school when that was going on. But it’s as prevalent now as it was back then.”

Kaepernick was unable to win a Super Bowl with the 49ers, but perhaps he'll be watching on Sunday night.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. E.T.
