Liv Morgan has opened up about the lengthy treatment she underwent for the forehead injury she suffered during a WWE segment earlier this year. What initially appeared to be a hematoma that would eventually disappear remained for months and ultimately required steroid injections before Morgan underwent another procedure to repair the damage left behind.

The Judgment Day member suffered the injury on the April 6 episode of RAW when Stephanie Vaquer pushed her into Roxanne Perez, causing their heads to collide. Speaking on the “Six Feet Under podcast,” Morgan recalled how severe the swelling was immediately afterward.

“So Stephanie pushed me into Roxanne, and me and Roxanne’s heads collided really hard, and I got this hematoma. And we thought it was just gonna go away, and it didn’t go away for like six or seven months,” Morgan said.

With the hematoma still present months later, doctors turned to steroid injections. Morgan said she underwent two rounds, which finally got rid of the swelling but created another issue.

“And so then I got two rounds of steroid injections in it, and the steroid injections finally made it go away, but it ate away at the fat. So I had this divot in my head.”

The indentation left Morgan needing another procedure. She recently underwent a fat graft in which doctors removed fat from her abdomen and transferred it to her forehead through her hairline.

“So I just got a fat graft. So they put me under, and they went in through my belly button and took fat out of my abdomen and injected it through my hairline into my head,” Morgan explained.

The procedure will take time to settle, and Morgan will have to wait before knowing whether she needs another fat graft.

“And so it’s gonna take like a couple weeks for it to smooth out, and then I won’t know for like three months if I need another one because your body only retains like a certain percentage of the fat.”

Liv Morgan Said The Hematoma Became Harder To Deal With Outside WWE

“The Miracle Kid” initially had a different attitude toward the noticeable swelling. Because of her wrestling career, she said she did not necessarily see the hematoma as a negative thing at first.

“I didn’t mind the hematoma because I was like, ‘Oh, it looks like I got in a fight.’ Like, that’s cool for wrestling,” Morgan said. “But then just like in my everyday life, it was just like all I could see when I looked at myself. So I’ve just been like silently dealing with it.”

The WWE star also remembered the immediate aftermath of the collision, when Dominik Mysterio tried to stop her from looking at the injury.

“I remember Dominik just being like, ‘Don’t look at it. Don’t look at it.’ And then I went to go touch it, and I had already felt it from here. And I was like, ‘Holy (expletive).’ Like, that’s when I knew, like, it wasn’t good.”

Despite the long recovery, Morgan said the injury is finally improving. She also made clear just how difficult the entire experience was for her.

Morgan continued wrestling while dealing with the injury, including her WrestleMania program with “La Primera”. The fact that she kept working without publicly detailing the extent of the problem makes the revelation a significant look at what she was dealing with away from WWE television.
