Pass rusher Jared Verse is one of the new faces on the Cleveland Browns' roster. He was a key piece in the trade that sent EDGE Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams. However, it's been over a month since he joined Cleveland, and he's gotten a good look at the team.
That includes the Browns' quarterback battle between Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson. Of course, Sanders ended the 2025 season as Cleveland's starter, and while Watson hasn't played since 2024, he is in the final season of a fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million contract.
No decision has been made on who will start in the Browns' season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Verse is ready to see more of the competition.

The pass rusher made an appearance on "Good Morning Football" on Wednesday, where he had the opportunity to share what he's seen from the competition. While Verse didn't share insight on who might be leading, he praised both quarterbacks.
“The main things I’ve seen are they just work… These are two great quarterbacks,” Verse said. “I’m honestly excited to see how it goes further in the preseason, but so far I’ve just seen two elite quarterbacks battling it out.”
As the Browns continue the offseason, the quarterback competition will remain one of the team's biggest storylines. Verse's faith in each option shows that both Watson and Sanders have earned the respect of their teammates.

How each performs in the preseason may ultimately decide who starts the year under center. Cleveland's first preseason matchup is against the Chicago Bears (Aug. 15), followed by the Buffalo Bills (Aug. 22) and New England Patriots (Aug. 27).
