If you were still not convinced how serious the Joe Gibbs Racing lawsuit against Chris Gabehart is, this might do it. TWG Motorsports CEO Dan Towriss has now weighed in on the latest NASCAR lawsuit.
Towriss oversees all of the TWG Motorsports programs. That includes launching the Cadillac F1 team this year. In other words, there is a lot on his plate. Still, Towriss took the time to talk about Gabehart and the lawsuit.
Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports reported Towriss's comments this afternoon. The IndyCar season, and TWG's Andretti Global organization, begins at St. Petersburg this weekend.

"I feel very good about how Spire has conducted things," Towriss said, via Pockrass. "Spire doesn't want data from Joe Gibbs Racing. It doesn't have data from Joe Gibbs Racing. No point in time has it had data from Joe Gibbs Racing."
Towriss touched specifically on Gabehart's statement, which he provided in the declaration filed on Thursday. Gabehart has denied the accusations since the lawsuit was filed last week.
"I'm sure Chris didn't want to have to share some of those details," Towriss said. "But when they claim that Spire tortuously interfered, you know, in his contract, he has to say ... these are the reasons why I left. He's not there to just sling mud around."
Joe Gibbs Racing amended its complaint this week to include Spire Motorsports as a defendant. They are also seeking a preliminary injunction and temporary restraining order that would prevent Gabehart from working at Spire for 18 months. They allege that Gabehart violated his noncompete and, of course, accused him of taking information and sharing it with Spire.
