President Trump’s administration appears to have ignored the NFL’s request for a video takedown on social media.
The NFL has asked the Department of Homeland Security to take down a video showing highlights of Hall of Fame safety Brian Dawkins. The DHS posted the video in response to an alleged “caravan” of immigrants heading toward the border. The Trump administration is making it clear that they will play defense as hard as the Philadelphia Eagles legend when it comes to protecting the border.
But the NFL isn’t happy with the video being used.
The video shows Dawkins chanting “the time has come,” followed by a highlight reel of his big plays. The Department of Homeland Security social media post included the caption “Our time has come.”
The NFL has requested that the video be taken down. “The league has requested the DHS take down the video,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said Monday.
However, as of 11 a.m. E.T. on Tuesday morning, the video remains up on social media, with close to 10 million views on X.

Full Measure.
The DHS was asked the request by The Hill.
“DHS is playing lockdown defense at the border. We will use every Weapon at our disposal, from A to X, to keep Americans safe,” a spokesperson for the department wrote.
Brian Dawkins distances himself from the video
The Philadelphia Eagles legend has made it clear that he did not give the DHS permission to use his likeness in a social media post.
“I have respectfully not given permission to anyone other than those I currently do business with to use my NIL. Be Blessed! 🙏🏽,” he shared.
He added: “Take a deep breath. Ya’ll be blessed.”
Dawkins was known as one of the NFL’s hardest-hitting players during his 16-year NFL career. He made nine Pro Bowls and five All-Pro teams during his Hall of Fame career.
