Kansas City Chiefs fans don’t seem to be the biggest supporters of ESPN announcer Troy Aikman.
Aikman, who won three Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys, was on the call of Monday night’s Chiefs vs. Broncos game. The Chiefs won the game in easy fashion, taking down the Broncos, 31-10. Kansas City opened the 2026 season with an impressive victory.
Previously, Aikman has taken issue with NFL fans and their love of Mahomes. The Hall of Fame quarterback taunted Mahomes early in his career, when he was breaking some of the Cowboys quarterback’s passing records.
The Athletic shared a tweet: “Patrick Mahomes has thrown 36% of Troy Aikman’s career touchdowns, in about 8% of the games.”
Aikman responded: “ICYMI: Talk to me when when he has 33% of my Super Bowl Titles.”
Of course, Mahomes has since gone on to win three Super Bowls in Kansas City, matching Aikman’s total in Dallas.
Chiefs fans haven’t forgotten about Aikman’s tweet, though.

Chiefs fans criticized Aikman’s performance Monday night
Chiefs fan Matt Moore, a prominent NBA writer, called out Aikman on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday night.
“I missed Mahomes so much, but Lord did I not miss Troy Aikman calling games for a quarterback who lapped his legacy and how salty he is at all times,” he shared on X.
“He’s so biased against him,” one fan added.
Not everyone agrees, though.
“People who think that Aikman is somehow ‘jealous’ of Mahomes are legitimately low IQ. Plenty of QBs have done more than him, he’s critical of everyone. Chiefs fans are just so used to Collinsworth level glazing that they get angry when they aren’t constant being complimented,” one fan clapped back.
Is the ESPN “Monday Night Football” announcer actually biased against Mahomes, or is he just critical of everyone because that’s his job?
