After facing considerable uncertainty about her future, Trinity Rodman will remain in the NWSL and play for the Washington Spirit for a couple of more years.

Rodman is reportedly the best-paid women's football player in the world after her latest contract was signed. Rodman remains seen as the face of the NWSL, and her impact in the league excites the league in terms of growth and popularity.

The USWNT star will play with the Washington Spirit for another season this year, which begins on March 13, 2026.

Not only does the league and the Washington Spirit believe that Rodman is important for the NWSL, but Bay FC co-owner, Leslie Osborne Lewis, thinks that as well.

Leslie Osborne Lewis mentions Rodman's star power in women's football and goes further in believing that she could have a similar impact to Lionel Messi.

Leslie Osborne Lewis on Trinity Rodman's 'Messi-Like' Trait

Bay FC co-owner Leslie Osborne Lewis talks about women's football not having a Lionel Messi-type player in the game, but in terms of star-power, Trinity Rodman is the first that comes to mind in her opinion.

Despite not having Rodman at Bay FC, Osborne Lewis expresses relief that Rodman did not leave the NWSL and decided to stay a couple of more years in the United States.

Osborne Lewis said, "I don't know if we have a female player like Messi, but Trinity Rodman is a star. I think she should be the face of this league [NWSL]. Trinity Rodman is so talented, and I love who she is....Trinity Rodman, if we had lost her, it would have set us [NWSL] back... Losing Trinity would've been a huge loss for us."
