Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce went viral for a handful of reasons during Monday night’s season opener against the Denver Broncos.
The 2026 season is expected to be Kelce’s farewell tour – at least that’s what many NFL fans think. The 11-time Pro Bowler and three-time Super Bowl champion agreed to a deal that’ll pay him a maximum value of $15 million this fall.
Prior to the start of the Broncos-Chiefs game, Kelce tried to hand his gloves to a fan sitting in the front row at Arrowhead Stadium. It appears someone else tried to steal those gloves, which led to the future Hall of Famer swiping their hand away.

Although this video generated plenty of buzz on social media, most NFL fans defended Kelce’s actions.
“To be fair, looks like he was going to hand them to a kid,” one fan said.
“Travis Kelce wasn’t letting an aggressive fan ruin game day-bro came ready for football and confrontation,” a second fan commented.
Kelce keeps making NFL history.
In what could’ve been Kelce’s final season opener, the future Hall of Famer hauled in three passes for 71 yards. His performance led to him passing Dallas Cowboys legend Jason Witten in all-time receiving yards (13,046) by a tight end. Now he only trails Tony Gonzalez (15,127) on the list.
Despite making more history on Monday night, Kelce was much more excited about the Chiefs getting the win over a division rival.
“It’s a good feeling to get this win, all the other stuff is just hoopla now,” Kelce said.
