The Kansas City Chiefs are off to a strong start in the 2026 NFL season. Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have led their squad to a perfect 3-0 record through their first three games. They already have half as many victories as they recorded throughout last season, when they finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
Kelce has already scored two touchdowns on 14 receptions and 231 yards. Mahomes, meanwhile, has been incredible to start the new season. After his 2025 season was cut short by a knee injury, the two-time NFL MVP is back to his form. He has already completed 67 of 98 passes for 812 yards and seven touchdowns.
On top of that, the offensive line got additional help this year with undrafted rookie Kahlil Benson. He has made a tremendous impact on the team to start his NFL career. So much so that the former Indiana Hoosiers standout has been named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for September.
Benson has started all three games at left tackle for Kansas City and has not allowed a sack. He is the first Chiefs player to earn Rookie of the Month honors since Nick Bolton in 2021.
Both Kelce and Mahomes celebrated their teammate’s achievement, sharing the team’s post on their Instagram stories. Mahomes didn’t add a caption, letting the accolade speak for itself. Kelce, on the other hand, shouted out Benson.
“🗣Yeahhhh Rook!!” the 6-foot-5 tight end said in the caption.
The Chiefs return to action on Sunday when they face the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium. Mahomes and Co. look to maintain their undefeated start to the campaign.
