Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are back on the court on Tuesday night for a home matchup against the league-best Minnesota Lynx. The Fever are looking to bounce back after Sunday’s disappointing loss to the Washington Mystics.
Clark and the Fever welcomed a very special guest for Tuesday’s game. Donna Kelce, the mother of Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, made the trip to Gainbridge Fieldhouse to support the Fever.
Clark greeted the VIP guest ahead of tipoff. The Fever posted a video of Clark embracing Donna Kelce, who was wearing her No. 22 jersey, on the sideline. Travis Kelce caught wind of the endearing interaction, and the 11-time Pro Bowl tight end decided to send a message to Clark.
“CC’s the realest!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻” the Chiefs star wrote in the comments section.
Earlier in the day, Clark received a message from Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. The three-time Super Bowl-winning coach thanked Clark for sending him a pair of her signature Nike shoes. The Fever star gifted Reid with the “Sea of Red” Caitlin 1s, which honor her favorite NFL team, the Chiefs.
Travis Kelce himself is a fan of Clark’s signature sneakers. The four-time All-Pro TE reacted to Clark’s recent post showcasing the different colorways of her signature shoe, set to release on Oct. 1. “🔥🔥🔥🔥Every color!!!” commented Kelce.
Clark and the Fever are up big against the Lynx. As of this writing, Indiana leads Minnesota 57-34 at halftime.
A win for the Fever will strengthen their chances of finishing in the top four and securing home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. They entered the game at No. 5 with a 27-15 record.
