Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, had to break an adorable habit when Taylor Swift became part of the family.
The legendary NFL brothers discussed the opening week on the latest edition of their “New Heights” podcast on Wednesday. Travis and Jason Kelce talked about the Chiefs’ big Week 1 win over the Broncos. Kansas City topped Denver, 31-10, to open the season in impressive fashion.
Kelce’s wife, Taylor Swift, sat next to Tom Cruise at the game. He was seen in a suite at Arrowhead Stadium, watching along with the “Love Story” singer. Cruise previously attended Kelce and Swift’s wedding in New York City.
Jason Kelce joked that Tom Cruise is so famous that you have to refer to him by his full name. “You can’t call him ‘Tom,'” he said. It’s “Tom Cruise.”
This brought up a story from Travis about his nieces and Taylor Swift.
New Heights.
When Travis Kelce’s nieces first met Taylor Swift, they would call her by her full name, probably saying things like “hi Taylor Swift” or “oh Taylor Swift is here” or “Taylor Swift can I do this?”
They had to put a stop to that.
“You can call her ‘Taylor,’ you don’t have to say (her full name),” Jason Kelce said.
“Adorable,” Travis Kelce added.
It probably still takes some time for the Kelce family to get used to the fact that Taylor Swift is officially part of the family. We don’t really blame his nieces for wanting to call her “Taylor Swift” at all times.
Swift is expected to be in attendance for most Kansas City Chiefs games this season, especially their ones at home, where she feels comfortable at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Chiefs will be taking on the Colts in Week 2 at 8:20 p.m. E.T. on NBC.
