The Boston Celtics have had an interesting offseason thus far as they have made multiple changes to their roster after being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last season.
Of course, Boston shocked the NBA world to begin the offseason as they traded Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George and draft capital, officially breaking up the star duo he formed with Jayson Tatum.
After trading Brown, the Celtics then signed Mitchell Robinson and Mike Conley in free agency and re-signed Neemias Queta.

With these moves, the Celtics are looking to bounce back with Tatum, Derrick White, George and Payton Pritchard leading the way as they enter the new season looking to contend at the top of the Eastern Conference.
While Boston is looking to compete for a top seed in the East this upcoming season, they could also try to make another deal ahead of the new campaign to upgrade their roster around their core.
If they decide to do so, the Celtics could target Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. to add another key wing player to their rotation.
Mock Trade Sends Michael Porter Jr. to Celtics, Paul George to Nets
In a potential trade, the Celtics could send a package of George, a 2027 first-round pick and a 2031 first-round pick to the Nets in exchange for Porter Jr. and Terance Mann.
By making this trade, Boston would add two players who could play key roles in the rotation while also moving on from George, whom Brooklyn could be willing to take back in this deal due to his expiring contract and the Celtics attaching draft capital.

For Porter Jr., he could fit in well in Boston’s system due to head coach Joe Mazzulla’s emphasis on outside shooting, which has been a strong area for the veteran forward during his NBA career, along with his championship experience from his time with the Denver Nuggets.
Porter Jr. also provides the Celtics with a reliable rebounder and improved defender who is coming off arguably the best season of his career as he averaged a career-high 24.2 points and 3.0 assists per game.
Boston would also add Mann in this trade, who could play a key role for them in the backcourt off the bench.

While this trade could work out well for the Celtics, they may elect to hold off on Porter Jr. due to his injury history as he has played more than 75 games just twice during his eight-year NBA career.
The Nets may also be unwilling to take back George in a potential deal as they could instead seek young talent and draft capital in a trade involving Porter Jr.
