The Milwaukee Bucks have had a busy offseason thus far with the biggest move being them trading superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat.
By making this move, the Bucks have officially exited the Giannis era and begun a rebuild around their new core led by Tyler Herro, Ryan Rollins and Kel’el Ware.

With Milwaukee now in a rebuild, and with the Eastern Conference expected to be more competitive this season, the franchise may elect to make more major changes to their roster to add more young talent and draft capital.
The Bucks could also look to add another potential star to their roster to help with their rebuild. If they choose to do so, they could target Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr.

In a potential trade, the Bucks could send a package of Myles Turner, Kyle Kuzma and the Heat’s 2031 first-round pick to the Nets in exchange for Porter Jr. and Noah Clowney.
By making this move, Milwaukee would move on from two of the franchise’s veteran players in Turner and Kuzma, both of whom could help Brooklyn’s rebuild, while bringing in a forward who has shown flashes of being a star in the right situation.

Of course, Porter Jr. was a key contributor for the Denver Nuggets during their championship run in 2023 and he is coming off a career-best campaign in his first season in Brooklyn.
Last season, the 28-year-old forward averaged 24.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 46.3% from the field and 36.3% from three.
Porter Jr. would provide the Bucks with a reliable scorer who could become the focal point of their offense and help lead their rebuild alongside the rest of their young core.

While Porter Jr.’s addition could be a solid move for the Bucks to make, there are some key reasons they could hold off on a potential deal.
One of these reasons is his injury history as he has played in more than 70 games just twice during his eight-year NBA career.
Milwaukee would also be forced to make a major decision regarding his future with the franchise this upcoming season as Porter Jr. is on an expiring contract and will be an unrestricted free agent next summer.
Because of this, the Bucks may look elsewhere to add another key player during their rebuild, while the Nets may also want younger players and more draft capital in return for Porter Jr. in a potential deal.
