Marina Mabrey watched on as Isabelle Harrison and the Toronto Tempo snapped a 12-game losing streak on Friday, jumping to 11-25 on the 2026 WNBA season after taking down Bridget Carleton and the Portland Fire 82-79. Now, the Tempo will get prepared for Sunday’s matchup, remaining home to face A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces.
Mabrey is having the best season of her seven-year WNBA career, and her first with Toronto. In 32 games played, the former Notre Dame Fighting Irish star is averaging a career-high 20.8 points on 44.1 % shooting, 3.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
And Mabrey has been pretty healthy throughout the season, playing in 32 of the Tempo’s 36 games as of Saturday.

But during the 101-95 loss to the Indiana Fever on Tuesday, Mabrey suffered a hamstring injury despite playing 29 minutes and finishing the game. Going into Wednesday’s matchup against the Washington Mystics, a 93-82 loss, the Tempo guard was initially ruled doubtful as Toronto played in their second game of a back-to-back.
Mabrey was later ruled out for that matchup and remained unavailable for a second straight game Friday against the Fire because of a right adductor issue. And on Saturday, one day before the Aces game, the Tempo announced that Mabrey will be out once again, still recovering from her hamstring/adductor issue.
Along with Mabrey, the Tempo also ruled forwards Maria Conde (left calf), Aneesah Morrow (left knee) and Nyara Sabally (left calf, along with guard Brittney Sykes (left foot).
“Toronto Tempo injury report for Sunday vs Las Vegas Aces: Marina Mabrey (right adductor) OUT. Brittney Sykes (left foot) OUT. Aneesah Morrow (left knee) OUT. Maria Conde (left calf) OUT. Nyara Sabally (left calf) OUT,” Tempo beat reporter Chelsea Leite wrote on X.
Following the Aces matchup, the Tempo will have a couple of days off before facing the Seattle Storm on Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET.
