Carolina Panthers tight end Tommy Tremble caught two touchdown passes from quarterback Bryce Young as Carolina beat the Philadelphia Eagles 25-14 on Sunday. Tremble finished with four catches for 46 yards, giving the offense a reliable answer as the Panthers worked through a penalty-heavy afternoon in Philadelphia.
Young connected with Tremble for a 12-yard score in the second quarter, then found him uncovered for the decisive 19-yard touchdown in the fourth. The second score restored a two-possession lead after Philadelphia had cut the margin to five, and it capped a sequence in which Tremble also helped create short-yardage running room as a lead blocker.
Locked On Panthers host Julian Council pointed to Carolina’s 14-play, 92-yard drive spanning the third and fourth quarters as the game’s defining offensive response. Young escaped pressure on third down and hit Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker for a 32-yard catch-and-run, giving the offense the spark it needed to extend its lead.
Running back Chuba Hubbard supplied the physical finish, carrying 28 times for 120 yards and a touchdown. Coker had six receptions for 97 yards, while wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan added six catches for 86 yards, giving Young multiple options even as the offense absorbed stalled drives and penalties.
The win moved Carolina to 3-2 after its early bye. Tremble’s two-touchdown performance mattered beyond the box score: it showed how the Panthers can use him as both a red-zone target and a versatile blocker when the running game needs help creating manageable downs.
The Panthers return home in Week 7 to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with an opportunity to build on a win that required them to recover from their own mistakes rather than play a clean game from start to finish.
Panthers News and Notes
– Council said Carolina committed 13 penalties for 149 yards, including eight flags for 105 yards before halftime. The Panthers still found enough late-game execution to prevent those mistakes from costing them a road win.
– Linebackers Bobby Okereke and Devin Lloyd continued to anchor the defense. Council credited Okereke with eight tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack and two pass breakups as Carolina kept Eagles quarterback Tanner McKee from finding an early rhythm.
