Legendary NFL quarterback turned Fox Sports announcer Tom Brady did the commencement speech at Georgetown over the weekend.
The Hoyas were very excited to have Brady, who is a graduate of the University of Michigan. Brady was the official commencement speaker for students graduating from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business.
The seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback spoke about hard work, competitiveness, winning and more. Oh, and he took a shot at his old coach, Bill Belichick.
Brady, one of the most accomplished athletes of all-time, made it clear that he doesn't do very well with compliments. While making that remark, he took a shot at his old coach, Bill Belichick.
“I don’t do well with compliments,” Brady said. “I had a coach for 20 years tell me how (expletive) I was every day.”
Brady also encouraged students to surround themselves with people that help them grow, even if “one of those people is a cranky old coach who cuts the sleeves off their sweatshirt and screams at you all day.”

While Brady has taken some playful shots at Belichick during his commencement speech, the head coach has spoken very highly of his old quarterback.
Belichick even thinks the Lombardi Trophy, given out to the Super Bowl champions, should be renamed the Brady Trophy.
"Maybe they should name it the Brady Trophy," Belichick has said. "He won seven of them."
Brady and Belichick clearly have a bit of a hot-and-cold relationship, though it's obvious that the two benefited from one another in a major way.
Their relationship has grown to the point where they can take public shots at one another but also joke and compliment each other.
It's nice to see.
