Tom Brady's performance in the Fanatics flag football event reminded NFL fans of how great the quarterback is, even at 48 years old.
The seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback proved that he's still got quite an arm and some mobility in the pocket. It was just flag football, of course, and the NFL is much different. Still, it would not surprise anyone if Brady could still sling it in the NFL for a season or two.
Brady has been retired since the end of the 2022 season. He's been working as an announcer for FOX, while also serving as a minority owner of the Raiders. NFL fans have speculated that Brady might consider returning to the game, as a player, for the team that he has a stake in. The Raiders have been searching for a franchise quarterback for a long, long time.

It turns out that Brady has actually "inquired" about making a return to the NFL as a player while also holding an ownership position with the Raiders.
It doesn't sound like Brady is actually going to do it - the NFL was not in favor of it - but the fact that he took that step is pretty telling. Brady still misses the game.
“I actually have inquired, and they don't like that idea very much. We explored a lot of different things, and I’m very happily retired," Brady told CNBC reporter Alex Sherman.
NFL fans not surprised by Brady's potential return
While it doesn't sound like a return is happening, few are surprised that Brady actually inquired about it.
"Brady even thinking about a comeback while owning part of the Raiders is wild 😂👀 You can tell that competitive fire never really goes away, but yeah… the NFL shutting that down makes sense. Still, the fact he checked?" one fan wrote.
"Brady really asked the NFL if he could own a team and play for them 😂 Of course they shut it down but the fact he even inquired is peak Brady competitiveness," one fan added.
"He's happily retired but just had to ask. Yeah ok," one fan added.
"Brady still can’t quit the game NFL won’t let him mix ownership with a comeback," another fan added.
What do you make of Brady inquiring about making an NFL comeback in his late 40s, while owning a part of the Raiders?
It shouldn't surprise anyone.
