The coaching carousel keeps on spinning. Late on Monday night, the Tennessee Titans found their head coach for the 2026 season.
Initially, there were rumors linking the Titans to former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. Once they missed out on him, Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley emerged as one of the top candidates for the job. The Miami Dolphins, however, complicated matters by agreeing to terms with Hafley on Monday afternoon.
Tennessee quickly turned its attention over to San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh. He spent the majority of his Monday talking to the Titans' front office. Clearly, they're discussions went well.
ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Saleh is finalizing a deal to become the next head coach of the Titans.
"Titans are working to finalize a deal to hire 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh as their head coach. Saleh spent Monday in Tennessee with the Titans, and the two sides impressed each other enough to move forward together," Schefter said. "Robert Saleh, John Harbaugh, and Kevin Stefanski at the NFL level, and Jeff Hafley at the college level."
Saleh will now get to work alongside Cam Ward, the No. 1 pick from the 2025 NFL Draft. The talented gunslinger finished his rookie season with 3,169 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Second chance for Saleh.
If we're being brutally honest, this is most likely Saleh's last chance at being a head coach. His tenure with the New York Jets from 2021-2024 ended with a 20-36 record and a whole lot of dysfunction.
While the Jets deserve plenty of blame for Saleh's downfall, fans aren't going to give him a long leash in Tennessee.
Only time will tell if Saleh is the right coach to fix the Titans.
