The Tennessee Titans drafted extremely well and have a solid rookie class for the upcoming season. With many rookies standing out, one rookie has already been named the most underrated on the roster by Luke Easterling of Athlon Sports.

Luke Easterling Names Nick Singleton as the Titans’ Most Underrated Rookie

“Singleton was easily one of the most talented running backs in this year’s draft, but he suffered a foot injury during Senior Bowl practice that put a damper on his predraft process. His loss was the Titans’ gain, as they landed what could have easily been a Day 2 pick in the fifth round. Singleton is a complete back with all the traits to be a three-down workhorse at the next level, and after splitting carries with Kaytron Allen at Penn State, he’ll have plenty of tread on his tires at the NFL level. The Titans won’t need him to be that kind of featured back right away, but he could grow into a huge role down the road,” Luke Easterling said when discussing why Nick Singleton is the most underrated rookie on the Titans.
Easterling’s selection of the running back out of Penn State is fair; however, one could argue that there is a more underrated rookie on the roster at this stage of training camp.
Who I Believe Is the Most Underrated Rookie on the Roster

The player I believe is the most underrated rookie on the Titans roster is Fernando Carmona. Carmona is entering a different level when it comes to his role with the team. While Singleton has a chance to one day become a starter in Tennessee, he has a tall hill to climb, as Tyjae Spears and Tony Pollard are both expected to be ahead of him on the depth chart to begin the season.
When it comes to Carmona, he was battling Cordell Volson and was originally slated to be a backup, but now it seems that Carmona has not only taken the lead, but he is pulling away in the position battle. I believe both rookies are underrated, and it is a coin flip. Easterling was on the right track in his thoughts about Singleton, because he could be the most underrated when it comes to longevity, but as of now it seems the Titans’ biggest steal, gem, and underrated rookie is Carmona, who is likely going to start despite being a day-three selection.
