The Minnesota Timberwolves have confirmed that Anthony Edwards will be available for their Monday night clash against the Denver Nuggets in Game 2 of the NBA Playoffs. The Timberwolves lost Game 1 116-105 to the Nuggets, but can rely on their franchise cornerstone to be available for the clash.

Edwards is currently playing through a knee injury, which caused him to miss out on NBA awards eligibility, as he played only 61 games this season. He averaged 28.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in the regular season, but didn't look like himself in a 22-point (7-19 FG) Game 1 performance.

Edwards came into Monday listed as questionable, with his knee injury being described as similar to the one that sidelined Steph Curry for over 25 games at the end of the regular season.

Given this is the Playoffs, coach Chris Finch told the media before the game that Edwards will be available for this must-win game.

The Timberwolves need Edwards on the court if they want to have a realistic chance at overcoming the Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray-led Nuggets.

Jokic put up 25 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists in Game 1 while Murray led all scorers with 30 points, five rebounds and seven assists.

Stopping this duo is already almost impossible, but Edwards knows what it takes, given he led the Nuggets to a comeback series win over Denver two seasons ago.

Even though Edwards struggled to score efficiently, he was an impactful contributor overall, with nine rebounds, seven assists and three blocks. He hopes to have a more efficient offensive performance in Game 2 while maintaining control over the clash with his rebounding and playmaking, as well as his defense.

Edwards' knee has made a difficult matchup even more challenging, so he'll hope he can avoid aggravating his injury while also equalizing the series before it comes to Minnesota for Game 3.

The Timberwolves have made two consecutive Western Conference Finals appearances, so a first-round exit this year would indicate a pretty big step back for the franchise.
