The Minnesota Timberwolves will be on the road on Tuesday night as they travel to take on the Indiana Pacers in an interconference matchup.

For the Timberwolves, they enter Tuesday’s game coming off a loss at home to the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday as they dropped their third consecutive contest.

With Tuesday’s loss, Minnesota now holds a 46-32 record, which has them sitting sixth in the Western Conference standings.

The Timberwolves sit just three games behind the Houston Rockets for the sixth seed and three games ahead of the Phoenix Suns for the seventh seed with only one week remaining in the regular season.

With the Timberwolves still trying to fight their way up the standings ahead of the playoffs, they will now try to pick up a key victory on the road on Tuesday as they face off against a struggling Pacers team, though they will be without one of their star players.

Of course, Edwards has played in just two of the Timberwolves’ last 10 games and he will now miss his second straight contest after sitting out Sunday’s loss to the Hornets.

This is disappointing news for Minnesota with the playoff right around the corner as Edwards’ knee injury may be becoming a key concern for the team.

Despite this, Tuesday’s game is the first night of a back-to-back for Minnesota and there is a chance that Edwards could return on Wednesday against the Orlando Magic.

Either way, the main goal for the Timberwolves with the regular season winding down is for Edwards to be as healthy as possible for the playoffs as they try to make a run at a championship.

With Edwards sidelined on Tuesday against the Pacers, Mike Conley and Bones Hyland could both be in line for increased roles in the backcourt while Julius Randle will likely be relied on to carry the load offensively.

Fans can catch Tuesday night’s matchup between the Timberwolves and Pacers from Indianapolis at 7:00 p.m. ET.
