The last time Anthony Edwards saw action for the Minnesota Timberwolves was on March 15, in a 116-103 loss to the defending champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder. The four-time All-Star has since been sidelined by a lingering knee injury, missing six straight games for Minnesota.
The Timberwolves are back on the court on Monday night in a matchup against a 24-50 Dallas Mavericks side. Minnesota is looking to secure a bounce-back victory following its deflating 109-87 loss to the Detroit Pistons, the No. 1 team in the Eastern Conference.
The Wolves enter Monday’s contest with a 45-29 record and fifth in the West.

The Wolves submitted their latest injury report right before Monday’s 8:30 p.m. ET tip-off time. Edwards was initially listed as questionable to play with Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome in his right knee. The good news is that he has now been cleared to play.
The Timberwolves announced that Edwards has officially been upgraded to available against the Mavericks. He will make his long-awaited return after an extended two-week absence.
This is a massive boost for the Wolves. Edwards has been their best player this season. In 58 games played thus far, the 24-year-old shooting guard has averaged 29.5 points on 49.2% shooting, 5.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals in 35.5 minutes per game. He is also knocking down 3.4 triples per contest on a highly efficient 40.2% clip.
It’s a tight race in the West right now. As of writing, the Timberwolves are just two games behind the fourth-seeded Denver Nuggets. At the same time, however, Minnesota is tied with the Houston Rockets, currently sixth, at 45-29.
