Tim Tebow is one of the most recognizable names from college football this century. From winning two national championships (2006, 2008) with the Florida Gators under head coach Urban Meyer to winning a Heisman Trophy (2007), Tebow went on to earn a spot in the College Football Hall of Fame. Now, he is a college football analyst for ESPN.

One of Tebow's biggest supporters during his college football career was his father, Bob Tebow. Like his son, Bob also attended the University of Florida, where he met his wife Pam. He then went to Portland, Oregon to attend Western Seminary, where he received his Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology before starting his full-time missionary work.

In the spring of 2016, Bob was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, yet he continued his missionary work in the Philippines, visiting orphanages and hospitals. After recently being confined to a wheelchair, Bob ended up passing away on April 23, 2026, at his home in Jacksonville, Florida, after a ten-year battle with Parkinson's.

Recently, Tebow took to social media to share a heartfelt message celebrating his father. He also publicly announced the "Celebration of Life" service, which took place at Church of Eleven22 at the San Pablo Campus in Jacksonville, Florida, on Thursday at 10 a.m. ET.

"My dad dedicated his life to making sure people had the chance to hear the Gospel," Tebow wrote on Instagram. "Not for fame. Not for recognition. Just because he loved Jesus and he loved people, and he couldn’t imagine keeping that to himself. Thursday, we get to honor that. We get to look back at a life fully lived for what matters most and how we get the chance to carry that forward. If you want to celebrate dad and hear about a life of significance and what makes life worth living, bring a friend, carpool together, and come join us. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate him. Celebration of Life : May 7th at 10am ET Church of Eleven22 | San Pablo Campus 14286 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32250"

Bob is survived by his wife Pam and their children Christy, Katie, Robby, Peter and Tim, along with 11 grandchildren.
