Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid's wife, Anne de Paula, seems to be enjoying the NBA offseason.
De Paula, who was born in Brazil, rose to prominence in 2017 when she made her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut. She was then voted Rookie of the Year and asked to return for the 2018 edition of the iconic magazine.
“It’s something I really wanted when I started modeling,” de Paula said in regards to working with SI Swimsuit. “It’s amazing to finally say I’m able to be an SI model. When I started modeling, I would show people SI photos that I wanted to recreate on the beach in Rio. I wasn’t expecting it all.”
Not only did de Paula pose for SI Swimsuit in 2018, she met Embiid through a mutual friend. Two years later, they gave birth to their first child together, Arthur. By May of 2023, Embiid gave his son credit for his MVP season.
"Honestly, he's the main reason why I'm really here," Embiid said. "Becoming a father changed my whole life and I just wanted to show him a good example, and I'm glad he is here with us. My fiancée is a big part of it, too."
Even though de Paula is no longer in the spotlight as much as she once was, she still manages to turn heads on social media.
Championship hopes for Embiid.
Embiid has been great for the 76ers since joining the NBA in 2014, averaging 27.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per game for his career.
Now that Jaylen Brown and LeBron James are heading to Philly for the 2026-27 season, it's fair to expect a championship run from the 76ers.
With that being said, Embiid is a championship away from going down as a legend in the City of Brotherly Love.
