After overhauling the coaching staff following the 2025 season, the Baltimore Ravens still boast one of the top rosters in the league. However, there are three moves general manager Eric DeCosta needs to make if he wants to ensure the team remains a powerhouse for years to come.
Locking up Zay Flowers to a long-term contract needs to be at the top of DeCosta's priority list before Flowers is eligible to test the free-agent market. The Ravens' secondary had an abysmal year in 2025 despite Marlon Humphrey coming off an All-Pro season. With plenty of free agents still available, depth at cornerback needs to be solidified. After spending a first-round pick on the offensive line and bringing in new faces through free agency, Baltimore knows Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry will only perform as well as their offensive line allows.
Sign Flowers before it's too late
While there seems to be mutual interest in a long-term solution, it would be in the Ravens' best interest to figure this out as soon as possible, before Flowers can hold out and miss valuable practice time. Baltimore picked up the fifth-year option on Flowers' contract, which keeps him in Baltimore through the 2027 season. Confident they'll reach an agreement, DeCosta needs to get it done before controversy takes over the headlines.
"The goal would be to get a long-term deal with him, if we can, and I fully expect we will," DeCosta said. "He's got a great agent, he's a great person, and I know he wants to be here."
Jaxon Smith-Njigba set the market at $168 million over four years, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history. While Flowers may not command that steep of a figure, he'll need a competitive offer from Baltimore that reflects his value to the offense.
Marlon Humphrey clearly can't do it all on his own

After earning All-Pro honors in 2024, Marlon Humphrey allowed 920 passing yards in 2025, while his defensive counterpart, Nate Wiggins, surrendered 782 yards of his own. After giving up the fourth-most passing yards in the league, the team could benefit from exploring outside options to build depth at cornerback.
Following a rocky stint in Washington, Marshon Lattimore remains an unrestricted free agent who could provide a veteran presence in the locker room. Meanwhile, Trevon Diggs, looking for a fresh start, represents a low-risk, high-reward opportunity on a one-year "prove-it" deal.
It all starts in the trenches
In his 10 years in the NFL, Ronnie Stanley has been a cornerstone of the Ravens' offense, earning All-Pro honors in 2019 and two Pro Bowl nods. Before Week 1, the new offensive coordinator needs to determine how rookie Olaivavega Ioane will fare at right guard and whether Ethan Pocic can hold up at center. With Tyler Linderbaum departing for Las Vegas, the shuffling on the offensive line has the potential to become a bigger problem than some think if it isn't addressed quickly.
