Carmelo Hayes made his WWE return on the October 12 episode of Monday Night RAW, ending weeks of speculation about his future with the company. The former NXT Champion also turned heel, joining 946 and helping the faction launch a brutal attack on The Bloodline.
The show closed with a six-man tag team match pitting Royce Keys, Bronco Nima, and Lucien Price of 946, accompanied by Jaida Parker, against Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Solo Sikoa. In the closing moments, Solo appeared poised to secure the victory for his team after taking control against Keys.
However, just as Sikoa prepared to deliver the Samoan Spike, a masked man entered the ring and struck him with a crowbar. The attacker removed his disguise, revealing himself as Carmelo Hayes, who had been missing from WWE television since his unsuccessful United States Championship challenge against Baron Corbin on the August 14 edition of SmackDown.
Hayes continued the assault, and Keys followed up with a spinebuster. When The Usos returned to the ring, they were overwhelmed by the numbers advantage. Hayes and the other 946 members attacked all three men with the weapon, ending the broadcast with the faction standing over their fallen opponents.
Hayes’ absence had fueled speculation that he might leave WWE. He blacked out his X profile picture in October, while AEW star MJF’s throwback photo with Hayes further stirred rumors about a possible move to the rival promotion.
Fans quickly reacted to his return on X. One wrote, “LOL AND THESE CLOWNS THOUGHT HE WAS LEAVING WWE🤣😂.”
Another added, “TWITTER TOLD ME HE WAS LEAVING.”
Hayes’ alliance with 946 has now put an end to the immediate speculation, while leaving WWE fans wondering what the faction’s next move against The Bloodline will be.
