There's a growing push for a French judge to be "banned" from the Winter Olympics in Italy this week.
A French judge is taking a lot of heat on social media for giving an American figure skating team a surprisingly low score. The American team of Madison Chock and Evan Bates won the silver medal in the pair competition. They scored a 134.67 in the free dance portion, giving them a total score of 224.39, winning a silver medal. France's team, Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron, won the gold medal with a score of 225.82.
But a French judge is under fire.
There's a growing push for the French judge to be "banned" from the competition, due to their abnormally low scoring.
Should the French judge be banned?
"Ban that judge," one fan wrote.
"Every four years I’m reminded how shady this sport is," one fan added.
"French criminal judge steals Chock and Bates’ Gold skating medal at the Olympics. Things never change!" one fan added.
"French judge isn't even trying to hide it," one fan added.
"It should just be the majority of judges who got them first and not the average score this crazy," one fan added.
"Yeah, both France and US judges have their own team homer votes, but the US judge didn’t lowball France like France’s judge lowballed the US," one fan added.
The American team was understandably emotional.
Should the French judge be banned?
